How to Choose a Vanity Seller: Shipping, Damage, Returns
Before you pay $500 to $2,000 for a vanity desk, check seven things on the seller's own policy pages: whether the desk arrives built or flat-pack, how fast it ships, how freight is delivered, how long you have to report damage, the return window and fee, the warranty, and how you reach a person. Each one decides what happens if the desk arrives late, damaged or wrong for your room.
Below are the seven checks and what to look for in each, then a table of what three vanity stores publish today: Lumina Pro, Impressions Vanity and Princess Room. Every line is taken from the store's own pages, with a link and the date it was checked, so you can confirm it yourself.
The seven checks
1. Built or flat-pack
A flat-pack desk arrives as panels, hardware and drawer parts in boxes. A desk with ten or more drawers can take hours to put together, and many need two people. Look for the words the store uses: "assembly required", "easy assembly" with a video, or drawers that come built. If the store sells an assembly service, check whether it covers shipped orders or only local pickup.
2. How fast it ships
Stores publish two numbers: processing time (how long before the order leaves the warehouse) and delivery time (how long the carrier takes). Add them together. A store that processes in 7 to 10 business days and delivers in 5 to 7 can take three weeks or more; one that ships in 1 to 3 business days usually arrives in about two.
3. How freight is delivered
Large desks and mirrors often travel by freight on a pallet. Curbside delivery means the driver leaves the shipment at the curb, threshold delivery means just inside your door, and white glove means carried to the room. If you live upstairs or in an apartment, read this line before you order, and ask what a delivery to your door costs.
4. The window to report damage
Glass tops, mirrors and lighted drawers can break in transit. Every store asks you to report damage within a set time after delivery, and the windows below range from 48 hours to 7 days. Open the cartons the day they arrive, photograph the boxes and labels first, and note any visible damage with the freight driver before you sign.
5. The return window and the fee
Check when the window starts (the purchase date or the delivery date), whether items must be unopened or unassembled, who pays return shipping, and the restocking fee. On a $1,500 desk, a 15% fee is $225 and a 20% fee is $300, before return freight, which you usually pay yourself.
6. The warranty
Look for the length and what it covers, and check desks and mirrors separately: some stores give different terms to lighted mirrors, desks and chairs. Note whether you pay freight to send a defective item back for repair.
7. How you reach a person
Find the email address, the phone number if there is one, and the hours. If something goes wrong in the first week, this is the line you will use. Reviews help here too: read them on a site the store does not control, and look at how the store answers complaints.

How to read the table
No store wins every row. Princess Room offers the longest warranty on its vanity and states no restocking fee. Impressions Vanity gives Hollywood mirrors a 5 year warranty and runs a store in Irvine, California. Lumina Pro ships desks built, in large sections with the drawers built, within 1 to 3 business days, and gives you 7 days to report damage.
Decide which rows matter most for your room and your budget. If you live upstairs, the freight row matters more than the warranty; if you are buying a large desk with many drawers, the assembly row may decide it.
Not flat-pack: our desks arrive in large pre-built sections, and the drawers come built. Most orders ship within 1 to 3 business days.

Is Impressions Vanity legit?
Impressions Vanity Company is an established US company. It has filed trademarks with the US Patent and Trademark Office since 2015 (trademark records), sells through its own website and lists a store in Irvine, California. On October 29, 2026, its Trustpilot page showed a rating of 1.3 out of 5 from 85 reviews. Read its shipping, return and warranty pages before you buy; the table above quotes them.
How long do I have to report a damaged vanity?
It depends on the store, and the clock starts at delivery: 48 hours at Impressions Vanity, and 7 days at Princess Room and Lumina Pro. Photograph the boxes and labels before you open them, and keep all packaging until the store has reviewed your claim.
What is a restocking fee?
A restocking fee is a share of the price a store keeps when you return an item that is not damaged or defective. On a $1,500 vanity desk, a 15% fee is $225. Return freight is usually extra and paid by you.
Do vanity desks ship curbside?
Many do. Large desks often travel by freight, and some carriers deliver only to the curb or building entrance. Read the store's shipping policy for its delivery method and ask what delivery to your door costs before you order.
Is a flat-pack vanity hard to assemble?
It takes time rather than skill. A desk with many drawers can mean dozens of panels and screws, and some stores recommend two people. Desks that arrive in large sections with the drawers built save most of that work.
